Bear with me, this is a slightly complicated story.
I have been sitting on the idea of House of Akuru for a while. In a world riddled with differences, I wanted to create a little space where everyone who visit it can find a bit of self love, romance and acceptance.
Love comes in many forms.
For me it came as story telling by the likes of Jane Austen, the Brontë sisters, despondent yet magical Russian literature, and visual media in the forms of films and photography and everything else in between.
Life tends to get so, so messy. For the most of it, most of us are on our own to deal with it.
In this little corner of the world, I hope I created a space where you can find something that can help you to untangle, unburden or make everything a little bit easier.
It’s not just about stationery, for every item you see here, I have put a lot of thought into it. I wanted to design things that show you that you are being seen and heard. And that you might see a little bit of you here.
Be it here on this website, or when I see you on social media, I would like to hear what you would think of this project. Maybe this would be a good idea, or it might not. But at the end of the day, I'm sure this will change my life and that was my intention from the start.
So, the point that I’m trying to make here is, you found House of Akuru for a reason.
